The year is 1979 and its time for the Hardie-Ferodo 1000 at Bathurst. As the Holden LX Torana A9X SS ‘fires and crackles’ in the Holden Dealer Team garage on a cold morning at Mount Panorama victory is in sight with the late great, Peter Brock (the King of the mountain) and his co-driver, Aussie racing great Jim Richards. The Racing legends take the 163 lap race in a time of 6 hours, 38 mins and 15.8 seconds and the title of Bathurst 1979. – R.I.P Peter Brock, 26 Feb 1945 – 8 Sept 2006 (aka) Peter Perfect, King of the Mountain, or as he was known to the rest of us Brocky.
